About Game Cities
Game Cities — The Fallen World is a free action-survival RPG (ARPG) that runs right in the browser, on desktop and on mobile, with nothing to install. The game world is the real world: streets, buildings, bridges and terrain come from open maps and photorealistic 3D models of the cities.
After the collapse, the cities were overrun by the dead. You create a survivor, start in a safe haven and head out to explore, gather gear and fight your way through the hordes — anywhere on the planet you choose on the globe.
The world is the real map
When you pick a destination on the globe, the game builds the city from OpenStreetMap open data (streets, blocks and names) and, where available, from Google and Cesium 3D buildings and terrain. You arrive by parachute, land on the street you chose and walk the same corners you see on the map.
The weather changes (night, dusk, overcast day, rain, hail, ash), buildings can be explored inside, with floors, furniture and items, and parked cars can be driven — with fuel, parts and wear.
Survival and combat
Zombies come in different types — from the common civilian to the acid spitter and the stronger champions, which always drop better items — and there are infected animals too. Melee weapons, pistols, shotguns, rifles, Molotovs and grenades each have their own damage, noise and ammo: shooting is quick, but the noise draws more of the dead.
Stamina limits running, strikes and dodge rolls; the flashlight helps you aim in the dark but gives you away; crouched, you go unnoticed. Food, water and medkits keep the survivor going, and your gear changes how your character looks.
Items, levels and economy
Items have rarities (common, magic, rare and legendary) and rolled attributes; legendaries carry special powers. Jewelry and metal parts dropped by zombies are recycled into gold, which buys weapons, ammo, clothes and food at the haven shops.
Gold, chips and all items exist only inside the game: they are not bought with real money, cannot be exchanged for money and have no prize value.
Havens, casino and other players
Havens are safe places with no zombies, where you shop, rest and meet other people. At the Casino Estoril you can play Texas Hold’em poker with other players, blackjack against the dealer and slot machines — always with chips bought with in-game gold, with no real-money betting.
With an account, several people’s survivors appear together in real time in the same area of the map, with text chat, a friends list and kill rankings by neighborhood, city, country and continent. Without an account you can play offline, with progress saved on your own device.
Requirements
A current browser with WebGL 2 (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari) and an internet connection to load the cities. On mobile, the game goes full screen in landscape and has its own touch controls; on iPhone, add the game to the Home Screen to play without Safari’s bars.
How to play
On desktop (mouse and keyboard)
- Left click walk / strike with the melee weapon · Shift+click strike in place
- WASD walk · hold Shift to run — it costs stamina; when it runs out you get tired and only walk until you catch your breath. The 🏃 button next to stamina keeps you always running
- Right click fire the firearm (hold for automatics) · R reload · Enter attacks or fires with the weapon in use, auto-aiming at the nearest zombie
- 1 Roll · 2 Molotov · 3 Grenade · 4 Adrenaline
- Z swaps the weapon in use: melee only, firearm only or one in each hand (pistol + melee). Using the holstered one draws it by itself (half a second). Bat, katana, axe and sledgehammer in one hand: −40% damage
- V stealth mode: crouched and slow, zombies only notice you up close (standing still, you are hidden) · F flashlight: in the dark it steadies your aim (more damage), but zombies see you from afar
- Q medkit · T eat (water, can or ration — whichever helps) · F flashlight · E pick up item · enter a building (marked door) · open furniture · stairs (Shift+E down)
- I inventory (there: Shift+click, X or drag out to drop the item on the ground) · Esc menu · scroll zoom · middle button rotate
- M or click the minimap map of the place (only what you explored) — its Travel button takes you to the globe
- G or 🌍 world map directly: zoom out to the globe and pick another city (at maximum zoom, stop and scroll out again)
- F2 alignment tools (dev) · Ctrl+click marks a polygon point
- Shots and explosions make noise and attract zombies. Strikes and rolls cost stamina.
On phones and tablets (touch)
- Joystick (left corner) walk — push to the edge to run · tap the ground walks there, a zombie attacks, a door enters
- ⚔ Attack strikes the nearest zombie (hold to move on to the next) · Fire (hold) aims at the nearest by itself and keeps firing · ↻ reload
- ⇄ swaps the weapon in use: melee only, firearm only or one in each hand (pistol + melee); with the firearm in use, tapping a zombie shoots it. Bat in one hand: −40% damage
- 👣 stealth mode: crouched and slow, zombies only notice you up close (still, hidden) · flashlight in the dark: better aim (more damage), but you are seen from afar
- 1–4 Roll (where the joystick points) · Molotov · Grenade · Adrenaline · ✋ enter, open, stairs or pick up item
- Enter / Exit the car, the haven or the building: the big button above the others · driving: the joystick drives, 🛑 brakes, dragging the screen turns the camera and ⌖ locks/unlocks the camera on the car
- Two fingers: pinch zooms, twist rotates the camera · 🎒 inventory (tap selects, tap again equips) · 🥫 eat · ☰ menu
- Minimap map of the place · 🌍 world map to travel · ⛶ full screen (on iPhone: Share → Add to Home Screen)
- Shots and explosions make noise and attract zombies. Strikes and rolls cost stamina.
